Weed Killer found in our Food
FDA emails admit that almost every food we eat contains weed killer... Here's the best way to protect your health and reverse the damage
"I have brought wheat crackers, granola cereal, and corn meal from home and there's a fair amount in all of them."
That's FDA scientist Richard Thompson emailing colleagues about foods he'd tested for toxic weed killer glyphosate, the main chemical found in Roundup.
In fact, according to that email, Thompson had only one food "on hand" that contained no glyphosate: broccoli.
Newly released independent tests show that glyphosate shows up in foods we eat all the time:
- Cheerios
- Goldfish Crackers
- Doritos
- Oreos
- Quaker's Old Fashioned Oats
And as the FDA's own scientists discovered, there are virtually no foods that don't contain the weed killer.
Plus, while the possible glyphosate-cancer connection is getting all the headlines, that's not the biggest threat this toxic chemical poses to our health.
But there is a simple way to protect yourself from this ever-present danger... and vastly improve your GI health at the same time.
Cancer isn't your biggest risk from glyphosate
Just as this is being written, a jury awarded $289 million in damages to a groundskeeper who developed cancer after working with Roundup and other glyphosate weed killers for years--and being doused by those chemicals twice. Monsanto (the weed killer's manufacturer) plans to appeal the decision and defend the product, claiming that it doesn't cause cancer.
Honestly, I don't know if it does... the evidence seems to go both ways... but it wouldn't surprise me.
Still, cancer is not the biggest threat glyphosate poses to us. The chemical is regularly sprayed on at least 70 food crops--not just the soybeans and corn we always hear about. According to the EPA, glyphosate is regularly sprayed on:
- wheat
- rice,
- apples,
- carrots,
- grapes,
- lettuce,
- peanuts,
- potatoes,
- spinach, and
- tomatoes.
That means every salad, French fry, and PB&J you eat could contain small amounts of weed killer. And that's a lot of glyphosate to be eating every meal, every day, for decades. So, it's not really surprising that eating that much weed killer could mess with your digestive system... and that's the biggest danger this toxic chemical really threatens.
Because when your digestive system is under attack, your overall health is compromised. And because of glyphosate's antibiotic properties (a patented "benefit" of the chemical), it can kill off the good bacteria in your gut... and that can lead to some very nasty GI problems.
Glyphosate harms the good... not the bad
When it comes to gut bacteria, there are some you want and some you definitely don't (like Salmonella). And when your microbiome (all of the different good and bad bacteria in your gut) has more bad guys than good, it can cause some severe GI issues, from occasional constipation and diarrhea to chronic conditions like irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn's disease, and leaky gut.
Glyphosate tips the balance... in favor of the bad guys. Because while bad bacteria such as Salmonella enteritidis and Clostridium botulinum are highly resistant to this weed killer, good bacteria are not. Another study found that glyphosate "significantly altered" the microbiome, which was linked to increased depression and anxiety.
Now, these were both animal studies, but it makes sense that glyphosate would cause imbalances in our microbiomes, both because of its antibiotic properties and our increased exposure.
The devastating damage to your gut
The state of your microbiome affects much more that your GI system, though it plays an extremely important role there. When your gut bacteria are out of balance, you face a higher risk of developing:
- diabetes,
- immune system disorders,
- multiple sclerosis,
- allergies, and
- runaway inflammation.
But where you'll really notice the problem is in your GI system, where that imbalance can cause irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which includes Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), gluten intolerance, and leaky gut. Any of those can cause symptoms like burning indigestion, terrible bloating, painful gas, and extreme diarrhea and constipation... leaving you chained to the bathroom, afraid to venture too far.
What's more, that microbiome imbalance also affects your intestinal integrity--how well the cells that make up the walls of your intestines can prevent food particles, toxins, bad bacteria, and other pathogens from escaping into your bloodstream. When the tight junctions between those cells begin to break down, it can cause even more intense GI distress and lead to a wide variety of chronic health problems.
Luckily, the solution comes in a new comprehensive gut-repair formula called BioSpectrum GI.
Comprehensive formula takes on glyphosate damage
BioSpectrum GI is packed with more than a dozen scientifically studied gut-healing ingredients designed to get your entire GI system back into perfect shape.
The proven compounds in BioSpectrum GI take on the toughest challenges, repairing weakened tight junctions... restoring good bacteria for a healthy microbiome... calming runaway inflammation... strengthening the immune system... and soothing your worst symptoms, from unending diarrhea to intense abdominal pain.
And it all starts with three of the most effective gut-healing natural compounds...
Repairing and restoring your GI tract
Three naturally curative compounds--lignite extract, colostrum, and prebiotic fiber--set the foundation for BioSpectrum GI.
Lignite extract comes from pristine soil containing key trace minerals and amino acids. Made up of prehistoric carbon-rich plant matter, lignite (which is related to but not the same as coal) works on several levels to repair gut damage--no matter the cause.
It gently removes toxins from the GI system, encourages optimal pH balance, and restores a healthy bacteria environment. Some early research shows that pure lignite extract may help improve the integrity of the intestinal barrier--repairing those tight junctions--to make sure that nothing harmful escapes from your GI tract.
Colostrum, a key component of mother's milk, improves immune system function for a balanced immune response (so it's not under active or overactive). And the peptide-enriched form of colostrum in BioSpectrum GI helps tame inflammation and irritation throughout the GI tract to repair and restore damaged tissue.
Once the irritation is tamed, the formula turns to the microbiome. The best way to restore a thriving microbiome is to make the gut environment friendlier to good bacteria. As their numbers flourish, these good guys crowd out (or kill off) the bad bacteria that damage your gut. That's where a special prebiotic fiber called Propol A comes into the picture. Introducing this prebiotic fiber into your GI tract can help substantially increase beneficial bacteria (like bifidobacteria) populations.
Stopping inflammation and starting repairs
Along with that trio of special gut-protecting compounds, BioSpectrum GI contains ingredients specifically designed to improve immune response, offer solid antioxidant protection, stop inflammation, and relieve the symptoms that keep you from fully enjoying your life.
ResistAid (larch arabinogalactan extract) supports a healthy microbiome and gently stimulates immune function for protection against a variety of bacterial and viral infections.
Selenium helps regulate the immune system, promotes beneficial diversity in the microbiome, and helps reduce gut inflammation.
IAM (Immune Assist Micron) brings a blend of powerful medicinal mushrooms--including shiitake, maitake, and reishi--that activates more than 250 different types of key immune cells so your body can take on any threat.
Sustamine combines two crucial amino acids, L-glutamine and L-alanine, to restore and protect intestinal integrity.
Quercetin and rutin are healing plant chemicals that can help restore intestinal integrity through improved tight junction function, increased collagen production, and reduced inflammation.
Setria glutathione is a very powerful antioxidant and gentle detoxifier that offers strong cellular protection and helps your body safely get rid of toxins like glyphosate.
Sunflower phospholipids repair cell membranes to kick off the healing process.
CurQfen combines powerful antioxidant curcumin with soothing fenugreek for a highly absorbable healing herbal blend that soothes gut inflammation.
Amla fruit is one of the most prized medicinal plants in the Ayurvedic tradition, offering strong antioxidant support along with anti-inflammatory properties.
Cat's claw, a native Amazon plant, fights inflammation and helps moderate the immune system.
Sensoril ashwagandha helps relieve the stress of living with a devastating GI disease, especially important because stress can greatly increase symptoms and lead to further gut dysfunction.
PepZin GI relieves several GI symptoms, including heartburn, nausea, bloating, and diarrhea.
Marshmallow root and slippery elm bark have been used traditionally for generations to soothe the irritated mucus membranes that line your GI tract.
Qing Dai is a staple of traditional Chinese medicine for treating inflammatory disorders of the GI tract, including ulcerative colitis.
Together, the comprehensive ingredients in BioSpectrum GI work to protect your GI system from damaging toxins like glyphosate, stimulate the repair process to restore intestinal integrity, repopulate your microbiome with beneficial bacteria... and relieve even your worst symptoms.
BioSpectrum GI reverses weed killer damage to restore a healthy gut
You may not be able to avoid glyphosate, but you can stop it from damaging your GI system and your health with BioSpectrum GI. This complete gut-healing formula repairs your GI tract while relieving symptoms like indigestion, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea for good.
The manufacturer recommends adding one scoop of BioSpectrum GI to 4 ounces of liquid, then shaking very well.
It's best to drink this quickly, because it will naturally get thicker, and immediately drink 8 ounces of water after taking the full dose of BioSpectrum GI. For the best results, take BioSpectrum GI in the late afternoon or evening, away from meals.
